Security assessment / April 2026
Beyond the finding.
A two-week competition that connected technical findings with business impact, remediation, and a client-facing report.
The brief
Compete in the red teaming track of MISSA's Information Technology Competition. Approach an enterprise-style environment as an assessment, then communicate findings to technical judges and a client audience.
The environment
The competition included Active Directory, internal web applications, Kubernetes workloads, source control and deployment platforms, file shares, and cloud-connected services.
My contribution
I contributed more than 20 hours across two weeks. My work focused on evaluating repository and configuration exposure, access to sensitive information, and the business consequences of excessive access.
From findings to a report
The final deliverable connected technical evidence to business impact and remediation guidance, with an executive summary and presentation. Clear communication and careful validation mattered as much as the technical investigation.
Outcome and reflection
Our team finished in the Top 5. The main lesson was the value of disciplined validation, professional judgment, teamwork, and explaining risk clearly to the people responsible for addressing it.
