THE EXPERIENCE
Tech Symposium 2026 · CTF
THE OUTCOME
1st place · around 50 participants
The setting
Cal Poly Pomona's SWIFT club hosted Tech Symposium 2026 with workshops, speakers, and a Capture the Flag competition running over several hours.
Breadth of practice
Challenges covered OSINT and geolocation, web security, binary analysis, cryptography, steganography, packet captures, and physical security. The variety rewarded careful observation and adaptability.
Outcome
I completed approximately 80–90% of the challenges and placed first among around 50 participants. Workshops and conversations with speakers made the event valuable beyond the competition itself.
